Adapted from Wikipedia · Explorer experience
Yokohama is a big, busy city in Japan. It is the second-largest city in the country and has about 3.7 million people living there. Yokohama sits right next to Tokyo Bay, just south of Tokyo, in a place called the Kantō region on Honshū island.
Yokohama became important when Japan started trading with other countries in 1859. It was here that Japan’s first railway station opened, and many new things began. Today, Yokohama is a busy port and a place where many companies have their offices.
The city has many places to see, like Minato Mirai 21, a modern area with tall buildings and shops. Yokohama Chinatown is one of the oldest and biggest Chinatowns in the world, full of tasty food and colorful shops.
Yokohama is also great for sports fans. You can watch baseball games with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars or cheer for soccer teams like Yokohama F. Marinos. The city has many parks, gardens, and museums to explore, making it a fun place to visit or live.
