Pridoli Epoch
Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
The Přídolí Epoch is the last part of the Silurian Period. It happened between 422.7 million and 419.62 million years ago. This time period comes after the Ludfordian Stage and before the Lochkovian, which is the first stage of the Lower Devonian.
The Přídolí Epoch is named after a place called Homolka a Přídolí in the Czech Republic. This place is a nature reserve near Prague.
During the early part of the Přídolí Epoch, something called the Šilalė Event happened. This event caused a change in carbon isotopes and led to the disappearance of many conodonts, which were ancient sea creatures.
