A lacrosse match between the Toronto Rock and Albany Attack at Maple Leaf Gardens in 2000.

The 2000 National Lacrosse League season was the 14th season of the league. It started on January 7, 2000, and ended with the championship game on May 6, 2000. The Toronto Rock played against the Rochester Knighthawks in the final game.

The Toronto Rock won the game by a score of 14โ€“13. Kaleb Toth scored the winning goal with only a few seconds left, giving the Toronto Rock their second championship in a row. It was a special season for the team and their fans.

Team movement

One new team joined the NLL for the 2000 season, the Albany Attack. The Baltimore Thunder moved from Baltimore and became the Pittsburgh CrosseFire. This team stayed in Pittsburgh for one season before moving again to Washington.

Playoffs

The 2000 National Lacrosse League season had exciting playoffs. The Toronto Rock played the Rochester Knighthawks in the championship game. The game was close. Kaleb Toth scored the winning goal near the end, helping the Toronto Rock win their second championship in a row.

Awards

Each week during the 2000 National Lacrosse League season, one player was chosen as "Player of the Week." There were also monthly awards for the best player and the best rookie of the month.
