365 By Whole Foods Market was an organic supermarket chain started by Whole Foods Market in 2016. It wanted to make organic products more affordable because Whole Foods prices were often higher than at regular supermarkets like Kroger and Albertsons. The store faced challenges and closed in 2019 when Whole Foods was bought by Amazon. During its time, it offered many everyday organic items to help customers choose healthier options at lower prices.

History

In June 2015, Whole Foods Market announced a new version of its stores called "365 By Whole Foods Market." These stores aimed to save money and reduce waste by donating leftover food, using energy-saving lights, and eco-friendly refrigeration. Customers could use a smartphone app for information and had the option to unload some products themselves to save money.

The first store opened in May 2016 in Los Angeles. Over the next few years, more stores opened in places like Oregon, Washington, Texas, California, Ohio, New York, and Georgia. However, when Whole Foods was bought by Amazon, plans to build more stores stopped. In January 2019, it was decided to close the 365 brand, and the remaining stores became regular Whole Foods locations by the end of that year.

Private label brand

Even though the 365 by Whole Foods Market stores are closed, the name is still used. Whole Foods and Amazon sell affordable food products with this name. You can find these products in Whole Foods stores and on Amazon.
