Brod-Posavina County

Brod-Posavina County (Croatian: Brodsko-posavska županija ) is a county in southern Slavonia, Croatia. The main city is Slavonski Brod. The county is along the left side of the Sava River, which is why it is called Posavina. Other important towns in the area include Nova Gradiška. This region is part of the beautiful and historic landscape of Slavonia.

Geography

Brod-Posavina County is in southern Slavonia in Croatia. It borders Sisak-Moslavina County to the west, Požega-Slavonia County to the north, Osijek-Baranja County to the northeast, and Vukovar-Syrmia County to the east. The main city is Slavonski Brod. The county runs along the left side of the Sava river, which is why it is called Posavina. Other important towns include Nova Gradiška.

County Assembly

Brod-Posavina County Headquarters

After the 2025 Croatian local elections, the Brod-Posavina County Assembly had 37 elected members. Many people voted, and different groups got votes. The Croatian Democratic Union got the most votes and elected 17 representatives. Other groups also got votes and elected their own representatives to help make decisions for the county.

Minority councils and representatives

Special groups help make sure everyone’s voice is heard. After elections in 2023, groups like the Roma and Serbs of Croatia chose members to help with important decisions in Brod-Posavina County. Other groups, like Albanians, Bosniaks, and Ukrainians of Croatia, also chose their own representatives.
