Chronological summary of the 2022 Winter Olympics
Adapted from Wikipedia · Adventurer experience
The 2022 Winter Olympics took place in Beijing, with some events in nearby towns of Yanqing and Chongli in the People's Republic of China. The games began on February 2 with curling matches and had the opening ceremony on February 4. The competition ended with the closing ceremony on February 20.
Athletes from 91 different countries joined in, including first-time Winter Olympics participants Haiti and Saudi Arabia. The event included 109 competitions across 7 sports and 15 different disciplines. Some new events were added, such as big air freestyle skiing for both men and women, women's monobob, and mixed team events in several sports.
Because of past issues, Russian athletes competed under the name "ROC", representing the Russian Olympic Committee, instead of their country’s flag. The games brought together athletes from around the world to compete in fun winter sports.
Calendar
The 2022 Winter Olympics started on February 2nd, two days before the opening ceremony, and ended on February 20th. The schedule for the games was changed a few times and needed approval from the International Olympic Committee.
