Easter bread
In many European countries, especially in Central and Eastern Europe, special bread is very important during Easter. People make sweet, tasty bread to celebrate and show love for their families and friends.
The tradition of eating Easter bread, sometimes called "communion" bread, started long ago in places like Byzantium. It is linked to the practices of Eastern Catholicism and the Orthodox Christian church. This custom has old roots, and some recipes for sweet, honey-leavened bread might date back to ancient Greek times.

Central and Eastern Europe
In many countries in Central and Eastern Europe, special breads are made for Easter. In Bulgaria, Moldova, and North Macedonia, the traditional Easter bread is called Kozunak.
