Eastern Canada is a large part in the east of Canada. It has several provinces, including Newfoundland and Labrador , Nova Scotia , Prince Edward Island , New Brunswick , Quebec , and Ontario . This area is found south of Hudson Bay and Hudson Strait , and east of Manitoba .
Some parts of Eastern Canada are also part of other regions. For example, Ontario and Quebec are large enough to be part of Central Canada . The other provinces, New Brunswick , Nova Scotia , and Prince Edward Island , make up Atlantic Canada , and they are also called the Maritime provinces .
This area is important because it has some of the oldest cities in Canada and many natural wonders, like beautiful coastlines and forests. It is a place where many different cultures and histories come together.

The Canadian Press says Eastern Canada includes areas east of and including Thunder Bay , Ontario. This area does not include the less populated part of Northwest Ontario west of Thunder Bay, like the Rainy River District and parts of the Kenora District .

Eastern Canada is where about 25 million people live. That's around 70% of all the people in Canada. Most live in Ontario and Quebec . This area has three of Canada's biggest cities. Toronto is the fourth largest city in North America.

Eastern Canada has many representatives in the country's government. There are Members of Parliament from this area. These include people from Ontario , Quebec , and the Atlantic Provinces . There are also senators from Eastern Canada.
