Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport

Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport is a special kind of airport called a general aviation airport. It is located in the city of Fort Lauderdale, in Broward County, Florida, United States. This airport is about five miles north of downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport was built in 1941 to help train Naval Aviators during World War II. It was called West Prospect Satellite Field at first. In 1947, the federal government gave the airport to the city of Fort Lauderdale to be used as a public airport.
