KXTQ-FM

KXTQ-FM, called "Magic 106.5", is a radio station. It broadcasts at 106.5 MHz. The station is owned by Ramar Communications Inc. of Lubbock, Texas. It serves the Lubbock area with a strong signal. The station is based in south Lubbock, where its studios and transmitter are located. Listeners can enjoy many programs and music on this popular local station.

106.5 History

106.5 began broadcasting in October 1992 as a station called "POWER 106." It played Tejano music and was run by Barton Broadcasting, Inc.

In 2015, Ramar Communications made a deal to switch frequencies with Barton Broadcasting. On December 18, 2015, five radio stations changed their frequencies at the same time. After this switch, the station became known as "Magic 106.5." On January 6, 2016, the station's call letters changed to KXTQ-FM.
