Kolonos

Kolonos is a busy, working-class neighborhood in Athens. It is named after an ancient area called Hippeios Colonus. The district is known for its close-knit community and everyday life.

One interesting part of Kolonos is its football club, Attikos F.C. This team was started way back in 1919 and has been a part of the neighborhood for many years. People in Kolonos are proud of their team and its history.

Kolonos should not be mixed up with places like Kolonos Hill or Agoraios Kolonos, which are different spots with similar names. The area is a vibrant part of Athens, full of life and history.

History

Kolonos is where the ancient Colonus was located. Colonus was a small community, called a deme, in ancient Attica.
