This list of Alaska Native tribal entities names the federally recognized tribes in Alaska. These tribes are special groups of people who have lived in Alaska for a very long time. They have their own traditions and leaders.

The Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 helped set up how these tribes are recognized today. As of January 30, 2026, there are 229 Alaska Native tribal entities. The list organizes these tribes in alphabetical order by their names.

It is important to know that even though many tribal names include words like "Village of" or "Native Village of," these tribes are not exactly the same as the towns or cities where they are located. Some people living in those places may not belong to the tribe. Alaska Native tribes are different from Alaska Native Regional Corporations, which are businesses created under the same law in 1971.

Here are some Alaska Native tribes that are officially recognized by the government. They include the Agdaagux Tribe of King Cove, Akiachak Native Community, and Akiak Native Community. Others are the Alatna Village, Aleut Community of St. Paul Island, and Algaaciq Native Village (St. Mary's).

More tribes on this list are the Allakaket Village, Alutiiq Tribe of Old Harbor, Angoon Community Association, Anvik Village, Arctic Village, and Asa'carsarmiut Tribe. Each of these tribes has its own unique traditions and history.
