Owendo

Owendo is a port city in Gabon. It is close to the bigger city of Libreville. Owendo is important because it helps Gabon connect with the rest of the world through shipping and trade. The city is by the Atlantic Ocean, which makes it a good place for transportation and business. Many people in Owendo work in fishing, transport, and other jobs that depend on the sea. Being near Libreville keeps Owendo busy and full of life in Gabon's southwest area.
History
In 1978, the Trans-Gabon Railway reached Owendo.
In 2023, Fortescue agreed to mine iron ore at Belinga. They planned to use roads and trains to take the ore to the port of Owendo.
Industry
Owendo has a cement factory where cement is made.
