1975 Ice Hockey World Championships
Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
The 1975 Ice Hockey World Championships were the 42nd Ice Hockey World Championships and the 53rd European Championships of ice hockey. The tournament happened in West Germany from April 3 to April 19, with games in Munich and Düsseldorf. Six teams played in the main tournament, and each team played every other team twice.
The Soviet Union won all their games, becoming World Champions for the 14th time and also winning their 17th European title. This year was fairly predictable, with the results going as expected. The host country, West Germany, did not even compete in the top level tournament. Because of this, rules about who could play were changed, and the tournament format was adjusted. Finland came close to winning a medal but finished fourth for the sixth year in a row.
