Allied Universal

Allied Universal is a big company in the United States that provides security guards and staffing services. It was created in 2016 when two companies, AlliedBarton and Universal Services of America, joined together. The company has offices in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania and Irvine, California.

History

Allied Universal started as two different companies: AlliedBarton and Universal Protection Services.

AlliedBarton

AlliedBarton began as Allied Security in 1957 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, providing security guards and services.

Universal Protection Service

Universal Protection Service started in 1965 as a cleaning company and later began offering security services.

After the 2016 merger

In 2016, AlliedBarton and Universal Services of America merged to form Allied Universal. The company began operating under its new name in February 2017 and became the largest security company in North America.

Allied Universal has grown by buying other companies and now has many employees and big contracts, including with the Department of Homeland Security.

These services include controlling who enters a building, detecting alarms, and using video systems to monitor activity.
