Armando Lucio Walle Jr. was born on March 7, 1978. He is a member of the Texas House of Representatives, where he represents the 140th district in Houston, Texas. Walle works closely with other leaders as the Deputy Floor Leader of the Texas House Democrats. During a difficult time, he was named Harris County COVID-19 Pandemic Recovery Czar by Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, helping to guide the area's recovery efforts.

Early life and education

Armando Walle was born and grew up in Houston. He was the oldest of five children. During high school, he worked at a restaurant and interned for a city council member named Carol Mimms Galloway. Walle played football in middle and high school, and he says his football coach inspired him to become a good role model. He finished at MacArthur High School and got a degree in political science from the University of Houston. As of 2013, he was studying to become a lawyer at the same university.

Texas House of Representatives

Armando Walle worked for two U.S. representatives, Gene Green and Sheila Jackson Lee, before being elected to the Texas House of Representatives. He ran against an experienced Democrat and won, taking office in 2009 without any Republican opposition in the general election. Walle is now the Deputy Floor Leader of his group and helps make decisions on important committees.

In 2013, Walle supported protests by Houston fast food workers who wanted better pay. In 2025, he joined a group of lawmakers who left the state to stop Republicans from changing voting districts in a way that would give them an unfair advantage.
