Broadview Park is a community area in the state of Florida. It is located within Broward County, which is along the southeast coast of the United States. Such places are called census-designated places, meaning they are important spots that people live in but are not officially cities.

In the year 2020, when officials counted how many people lived there, they found 7,670 people calling Broadview Park home. This shows that it is a place where many families and individuals make their lives. Like other communities, Broadview Park has its own special character and helps shape the larger area of Broward County.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, Broadview Park has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2). A small part of this area, about 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2), or 3.92%, is water.

Demographics

2020 census

In the 2020 census, Broadview Park had a population of 7,670 people. The middle age was 35.7 years. About 24.6% of the residents were younger than 18, and 9.9% were 65 years or older. For every 100 females, there were 113.2 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 111.5 males age 18 and over.

All residents lived in urban areas. There were 2,274 households, with 45.0% having children under 18. About 47.5% were married couples, 21.0% had a male householder without a spouse, and 22.7% had a female householder without a spouse. Around 16.0% of households were made up of individuals, and 5.3% had someone living alone who was 65 or older.

There were 2,348 housing units, with 3.2% being empty. The rate for empty homes owned by people was 0.9%, and the rate for empty rented homes was 2.9%. According to the 2020 American Community Survey, there were 1,975 families living in the area.

In the 2010 United States census, there were 7,125 people, 1,975 households, and 1,340 families living in Broadview Park.

2000 census

In the year 2000, there were 6,798 people, 2,122 households, and 1,606 families in Broadview Park. The population density was 6,949.1 people per square mile (2,683.1/km2). There were 2,267 housing units, with an average density of 2,317.4 per square mile (894.8/km2).

In 2000, 29.8% of people were under 18, 10.2% were from 18 to 24, 33.6% were from 25 to 44, 18.8% were from 45 to 64, and 7.6% were 65 or older. The middle age was 31 years. For every 100 females, there were 108.1 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 105.8 males.

The median income for a household was $38,125, and for a family, it was $39,176. Males earned a median income of $27,473, while females earned $22,296. The per capita income was $14,591. About 13.6% of families and 14.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.2% of those under age 18 and 16.4% of those age 65 or over.

In 2000, 54.71% of residents spoke English as their first language, 41.80% spoke Spanish, 1.57% spoke French Creole, Tagalog was spoken by 1.32%, and French by 0.57%.
