Archery

Colombia returned to the archery competition at the 1992 Summer Olympics after missing it in 1988. This was their second time taking part in Olympic archery. This time, they sent a female archer. She did not perform better than Juan Echavarria, who competed eight years earlier.

Athletics

Colombia had athletes compete in several running and walking events at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.

Herder Vázquez ran in both the men's 5,000 metres and 10,000 metres but did not move on to the next round in either event. Carlos Grisales started the men's marathon but did not finish. Héctor Moreno walked 20 kilometres and finished in ninth place. Ximena Restrepo and Norfalia Carabalí both competed in the women's 400 metres.

Boxing

Colombia had athletes compete in three boxing events at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Fernando Retayud competed in the Men's Light Flyweight category and lost in the first round. Jesús Pérez competed in the Men's Bantamweight category and also lost in the first round. Edwin Cassiani competed in the Men's Light-Welterweight category and lost his first-round match as well.

Cycling

Eight male cyclists from Colombia took part in the 1992 Summer Olympics. They competed in several events, including the men's road race, sprint, 1 km time trial, individual pursuit, team pursuit, and points race. The cyclists were José Robles, Héctor Palacio, Libardo Niño, Jhon González, José Velásquez, Alberny Vargas, Esteban López, and Fernando Sierra.

Equestrianism

Colombia had athletes compete in equestrian events at the 1992 Summer Olympics. The events included Mixed Individual Jumping and Mixed Team Jumping. The athletes who took part were Juan Carlos García, Manuel Guillermo Torres, and Hugo Gamboa.

Fencing

Two male fencers from Colombia joined in the 1992 Summer Olympics. They competed in the men's épée event. The fencers were Mauricio Rivas and Juan Miguel Paz.

Football

In the 1992 Summer Olympics, Colombia's men's football team competed in Group C. They played against three teams. They lost to Spain with a score of 0-4, drew with Qatar at 1-1, and lost to Egypt with a score of 3-4. Because of these results, the team did not move forward in the competition.

The team was led by head coach Hernan Dario Gomez and included players such as Miguel Angel Calero, Jorge Bermudez, and Faustino Asprilla, among others.

Shooting

Colombia had several shooters compete in the 1992 Summer Olympics. Bernardo Tovar took part in three events: the Men's Air Pistol, 10 metres; the Men's Rapid-Fire Pistol, 25 metres; and the Men's Free Pistol, 50 metres. Hernando Barrientos competed in the Men's Running Target, 10 metres.

Swimming

Colombia had a strong showing in swimming at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Alejandro Bermúdez competed in several events. He swam in the men's 400m freestyle, the men's 1500m freestyle, the men's 200m backstroke, and the men's 400m individual medley, but he did not move on to the next rounds in any of these events.

Weightlifting

Colombia had athletes compete in weightlifting at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Some of the participants included José Horacio Villegas, Roger Berrio, Eyne Acevedo, and Álvaro Velasco.

Wrestling

Colombia had a competitor in wrestling at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Romelio Salas took part in the men's freestyle welterweight event.
