Daan District, Taichung

Daan District is a coastal suburban area in Taichung, Taiwan. It used to be called Da-an Township before it became a district. The district is located between the Dajia river and the Da-an river.
The main economic activity in Daan District is growing rice. The weather there is sub-tropical, which helps the plants grow well.
Daan District is part of the larger city of Taichung and has its own unique place in Taiwan.
History
In March 1842, during a big war, a ship called the Ann ran into rocks near Daan harbour and could not move. There were 57 people on the ship, many of them from India. These people, along with others from another ship that had problems earlier, faced hard times later on.
Administrative divisions
Daan District includes several villages: Nanpu, Nanzhuang, Zhongzhuang, Tong'an, Fuxing, Guike, Ding'an, Yong'an, Fuzhu, Haiqi, Xi'an, and Songya. These villages make up the local community and help organize the area.
Tourist attractions
One of the main places people visit in Daan District is Da'an Coastal Park. This park is a popular spot for enjoying the coastline and spending time outdoors.
