Danderyd Municipality
Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
Danderyd Municipality (Swedish: Danderyds kommun) is a small area north of Stockholm in Stockholm County, Sweden. Even though it is one of the smallest municipalities in Sweden, it is also the most well-off, meaning many people there have a lot of money.
The area known as Danderyd used to be a rural place, but it changed a lot in the early 1900s. Parts of it became separate areas called Djursholm and Stocksund in 1901 and 1910. Later, in 1971, Danderyd came back together almost as it was before.
Today, Danderyd has about 32,857 people. It is made up of four main parts: Danderyd, Djursholm, Stocksund, and Enebyberg. The main town or "seat" of the municipality is in Djursholm.
Demographics
The people living in Danderyd Municipality are some of the wealthiest in Sweden. They have the highest average income, partly because houses there cost a lot. Because of this wealth, the local government has lower taxes than many other places. However, recent changes in government money and some money problems have led to higher taxes and less spending.
Many people in Danderyd have gone to school for a long time. Over half of all adults have finished a long college or university program.
