Fresh Kills is a stream and freshwater estuary located in the western part of Staten Island in New York City, United States. Its name comes from the Middle Dutch word kille, meaning "riverbed" or "water channel." The stream flows into the Arthur Kill around the Isle of Meadows and has several smaller streams that join it, such as the Rahway River, Morses Creek, and Piles Creek.

The area around Fresh Kills was once home to the Fresh Kills Landfill, which was the main landfill for New York City. Since 2006, work has been underway to turn this old landfill into Fresh Kills Park. This new park will cover 2,200 acres (8.9 km2), which is nearly three times the size of Central Park.

Fresh Kills Park will offer many activities for people to enjoy, such as nature trails, mountain biking, and places for community events. There will also be spots for outdoor dining, sports fields, and places to kayak and canoe. The park’s design will focus on helping the environment and teaching people about taking care of the earth. Plans include using solar power, wind turbines, and geothermal heating and cooling in the park’s buildings and activities. The first parts of the park opened in early 2010, and the whole park is expected to be finished by the 2030s.
