Izberbash

Izberbash is a town in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It lies along the beautiful coast of the Caspian Sea, about 56 kilometers or 35 miles southeast of Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan.
The town has grown over the years. In the year 2010, around 55,646 people lived there. In 2002, the population was about 39,365, and in 1989, during the time of the Soviet Union, it was roughly 28,122 people.
Izberbash is known by different names by the people who live there. In Russian, it is called Изберба́ш. In Dargwa, one local language, it is called Избир. And in Kumyk, another local language, it is called Йизбирба́ш or Yizbirbaş. The town is a place where many cultures and languages come together.
History
Izberbash was started in 1932 as a place for getting oil. It became an official town in 1949.
In 2024, the mayor of Izberbash was arrested for taking money to help someone build a house.
Administrative and municipal status
In terms of local government, Izberbash is known as the Town of Izberbash. This gives it the same importance as the areas called districts. When thinking about city management, Izberbash is grouped as Izberbash Urban Okrug.
Demographics
Izberbash is a town in Russia where people from many different backgrounds live together. In 2002, most of the people were Dargins, followed by Kumyks, Lezgins, Russians, Avars, Laks, and Azerbaijanis. By 2021, the numbers changed a little, with Dargins still being the largest group, and Kumyks, Lezgins, Russians, Avars, Laks, and Tabasarans making up the rest of the community.

Izberbash has a place for learning called the M. M. Medzhidov Professional and Pedagogical College.

Climate
Izberbash has a cold semi-arid climate, which means it has dry weather with cool temperatures. This type of climate is classified as BSk in the Köppen system.
Notable people
Some well-known people come from Izberbash. Viktor Bolshov, born in 1939, was a Soviet high jumper. Milana Dadasheva, born in 1995, is a Russian wrestler. Mukhtar Gusengadzhiyev, born in 1964, worked as a circus actor in Russia. Akhmed Khaybullayev, born in 1985, is a Russian footballer.
