Taichung is a big city in Taiwan with many places for people to learn. You can find schools for very young children, called kindergartens, and they even teach in two languages. These schools help children get ready for elementary and secondary school, where they learn more as they grow older.
There are also schools for people who come from other countries. These international schools teach students in their own languages and help them adjust to life in Taichung. Additionally, there are special classes for foreigners who want to learn Mandarin and Taiwanese, the main languages spoken in the area.

In Taichung, some well-known senior high schools are Taichung First Senior High School (started in 1915), Taichung Girls' Senior High School (started in 1919), and Taichung Second Senior High School (started in 1922). Taichung First Senior High School is mostly for boys but has a few special programs for girls. Taichung Second Senior High School has both boys and girls.
Usually, public high schools in Taichung are thought to be better because they cost less and have more resources. But there are also some good private high schools. Some of these schools also have classes for learning specific skills, like jobs, and they also offer education for younger students.
Vocational High Schools
Students in Taiwan can also choose to learn a specific job skill instead of going to a regular high school. Some of these programs are very academic, like language classes, while others get students ready for a job after they finish school.
