North Macedonia at the Olympics

North Macedonia first competed in the Olympic Games as its own country in the 1996 Summer Olympics. Before that, athletes from North Macedonia were part of the team for Yugoslavia until 1988. In 1992, they took part as Independent Olympic Participants.

Since 1996, North Macedonia has sent athletes to every Summer and Winter Olympic Games. For a while, the country was called the "former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" because of a naming issue with another country. This name was used until the problem was solved.
