OnStage Playhouse

OnStage Playhouse is a non-profit community theatre located at 291 3rd Ave. in Chula Vista, California. It is the only live theatre in the South Bay section of San Diego County, serving the cities of Chula Vista, National City, Imperial Beach, and San Ysidro.
Each season, from July to June, the playhouse puts on six plays or musicals in its small theatre that fits sixty people. Everyone who helps with these shows, from acting to working behind the scenes, does it as a volunteer.
OnStage Playhouse is part of important groups like the American Association of Community Theatre, the San Diego Association of Community Theatres, and the San Diego Performing Arts League.
History
OnStage Playhouse was started in 1983, but at a different place from where it is now.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in California, the theatre livestreamed its shows so people could watch from home.
In March 2023, the theatre received its second Craig Noel Award for being an outstanding small theater during its 2022 season.
