Panamá is one of the provinces of Panama. It is very important because it is home to the country’s national capital, Panama City, which is also the capital of the province itself. The leader of the province, called the governor, is Mayín Correa. She was chosen for this job by the country’s president, José Raul Mulino. This province plays a big role in the life of Panama, as many important government offices and activities happen in and around Panama City.

Administrative divisions

Panamá Province is divided into 6 districts and subdivided into 55 smaller areas called corregimientos. Before 2014, there were five districts west of the Panama Canal, but they are now part of a separate province called Panamá Oeste.

1 These corregimientos represent as Panama City
2 These corregimientos represent as San Miguelito City
