Sudan at the 1992 Summer Olympics

Sudan sent athletes to the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The team was organized by the Sudan Olympic Committee.

Six men from Sudan took part in the games. They competed in three sports: athletics, judo, and weightlifting. This was Sudan's way of joining athletes from around the world in a celebration of sport.

Athletics

Three athletes from Sudan took part in the athletics events. Stephen Lugor ran in the men's 400 m, Khalid Mosa competed in the men's long jump, and Adam Hassan Sakak ran in both the men's 100 m and men's 200 m.

In the men's 100 m heats on July 31, 1992, Sakak finished seventh in his race with a time of 11.12 seconds and did not move on to the next round. Lugor finished eighth in his 400 m heat on August 1, 1992, with a time of 48.94 seconds and also did not advance. Sakak ran the 200 m heats on August 3, 1992, finishing fifth in his race with a time of 21.96 seconds and did not go further. In the men's long jump qualifying round on August 5, 1992, Mosa's farthest jump was 7.03 m, which was not enough to reach the final.

Judo

Two athletes from Sudan took part in judo at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Hamid Fadul competed in the men's −78 kg group, and Awad Mahmoud competed in the men's −71 kg group.

Fadul’s competition happened on July 30, 1992, and Mahmoud’s on July 31, 1992. Both athletes faced strong opponents in the first round and were unable to continue further in the tournament.

Weightlifting

One athlete from Sudan took part in the weightlifting events. His name was Mubarak Fadl El-Moula, and he competed in the –75 kg category on July 30, 1992. He lifted 90 kg in the snatch but did not compete in the clean and jerk.
