The This Is for Everyone is a memoir by Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, co-written by Stephen Witt and published in 2025. This book tells the story of how the World Wide Web was created and how it changed our world. It talks about many important changes that happened because of the web, like online shopping, fights between web browsers, search engines, the big crash of many internet companies, social media growing, the web moving from computers to phones, and the rise of smart computers that can learn on their own.
The book also shares Tim Berners-Leeβs ideas for making the internet better and helping people take back control of their lives online. The first part of the book talks about his childhood in London, his time as a student at the University of Oxford, and his early jobs at Plessey, a British electronic company, and then at CERN. It was written with the help of ghost-writer Stephen Witt.
