Álava is a lovely place in Spain. It is part of a special area called the Basque Country. This land has green hills, tall mountains, and places where vines grow.

The main city in Álava is Vitoria-Gasteiz. It is very important because many leaders work there. People in Álava enjoy both busy city life and quiet countryside days.

Álava is surrounded by other places. To the north are Biscay and Gipuzkoa. To the south is La Rioja. To the west is the province of Burgos, and to the east is Navarre.

The land in Álava has many different shapes and looks. There are hills, valleys, plains, and forests. Rivers flow through the land, bringing water to towns and cities. People have lived here for a very long time, and the area has many interesting stories from the past.
