What is Aerobic Gymnastics?

Aerobic gymnastics is a fun and energetic sport where athletes move quickly to music. They do jumps, spins, and other lively moves. It is like dancing but with a lot of strength and skill. People of all ages can enjoy this sport. It is a great way to stay active and have fun.

Where Do They Compete?

Aerobic gymnastics competitions happen on a big floor that is 10 metres square. There are different groups that compete, like single routines, mixed pairs, and groups of five or more people. These competitions are overseen by World Gymnastics, which makes the rules to keep everything fair and safe.

A Little History

Aerobic gymnastics started in the 1980s from regular aerobics. The first big competitions began in the United States in 1984. Two people named Howard and Karen Schwartz helped turn aerobics into a sport you can compete in. The first Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships were held in Paris in 1995. Since then, many countries have joined in the fun.
