World Gymnastics is a special group that helps make sure gymnastics is fun and fair all around the world. It started a long time ago, on July 23, 1881, in Liège, Belgium. At first, only three countries were part of it: Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. Now, many more countries join in, and it has a new name: World Gymnastics.

Today, World Gymnastics has its home in Lausanne, Switzerland. It makes the rules for gymnastics, called the Code of Points, so everyone knows how to judge the athletes. There are many kinds of gymnastics, like artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, aerobic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, trampolining, double mini trampoline, tumbling, and parkour. World Gymnastics also helps decide if gymnasts are old enough to compete in big events like the Olympics.

World Gymnastics holds exciting competitions all over the world. Some of the biggest are the World Gymnastics Championships. These have many categories, such as Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Trampoline, Tumbling, Aerobic Gymnastics, Acrobatic Gymnastics, and Parkour. There are also World Cup series and World Challenge Cup series in many gymnastics styles. Young athletes can also compete in the Junior World Gymnastics Championships. All these events bring together athletes from many countries to show off their skills and have fun.
