Allied Control Council

After a very sad time when countries did not get along, a special group called the Allied Control Council was made. It helped two countries, Germany and Austria, start to rebuild. The council was made up of four big countries: the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, and France.

These four countries worked together to make sure rules were fair for everyone. They met in a building in Schöneberg, a part of West Berlin. Their job was to help these countries get stronger and safer after a difficult time.

Sometimes the four countries did not agree, and this made things harder. Even though they did not always work together, the council tried to help Germany and Austria become peaceful again. Over many years, the council helped these countries move toward being strong and free.
