Animal coat
What is an Animal Coat?
An animal’s coat is its natural fur. It helps keep the animal warm and healthy, just like a cozy blanket. Many animals, such as dogs, cats, horses, and rabbits, have beautiful coats. The coat’s look and feel can tell us a lot about how well the animal is cared for.
Different Types of Coats
Animal coats can be soft and downy, or spiky and rough. Some animals have just one layer of fur, while others have two layers: a soft undercoat and a tougher topcoat. The condition of an animal’s coat shows how healthy and happy it is.
Coats Change With the Seasons
Many animals change their coats with the weather. In cold weather, they grow a thicker, longer winter coat to stay warm. When it gets warmer, they shed this and grow a shorter, sleeker summer coat. This helps them stay comfortable all year long.
