Ariane 5

The Ariane 5 was a big rocket that helped send important things into space. It was made by people in Europe and used by the European Space Agency. The rocket flew from a special place called the Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana.

Ariane 5 could carry heavy satellites and other tools into space. It could send them to different places, like geostationary transfer orbit or low Earth orbit. The rocket had many versions, such as G, G+, GS, ECA, and ES. One cool thing it could do is launch two big satellites at the same time!

People liked the Ariane 5 because it worked very well. It had many successful flights and helped put many important satellites in space. One famous job it did was help launch the James Webb Space Telescope, which is a big telescope that looks at stars and planets.

After many years of good work, the Ariane 5 was replaced by a new rocket called the Ariane 6 in 2024. The Ariane 5 will always be remembered for its big jobs in space!
