The Armor Branch
The Armor Branch is a special part of the United States Army. It helps protect soldiers by using strong, tough vehicles like tanks. This branch started in 1940 and has grown to become very important.
People know about the Armor Branch because of its strong vehicles and important role in keeping soldiers safe. It began with a group called the Armored Force, led by a brave leader named Adna R. Chaffee, Jr..
Today, the Armor Branch is part of a bigger group called "Maneuver, Fires and Effects" (MFE). It works with many units all over the United States Army. Some of these units include the 1st Armored Division and the 1st Cavalry Division.
The Armor Branch also has its own school, the United States Army Armor School, where soldiers learn to use these strong vehicles. This school is located at Fort Benning in Georgia.
