Battle of Patay

The Battle of Patay was a fight that happened a long time ago on June 18, 1429. It took place in France, in a place called Patay. This battle was part of something called the Hundred Years' War, when France and England did not get along very well.

The French army, led by brave leaders like the Duke of Alençon, La Hire, and Xaintrailles, faced the English soldiers. The French were very clever and surprised the English, which helped them win the battle.

After this battle, the French felt very proud because they had won. They were able to take back many places near Paris. Soon after, the French took the town of Reims, where the Dauphin Charles was crowned King of France. Even though the fighting continued for many years, this battle was an important step for the French.
