Welcome to Canada!
Canada is a big, beautiful country in North America. It stretches from the Atlantic Ocean in the east all the way to the Pacific Ocean in the west, and even up to the Arctic Ocean in the north. Canada is the second-largest country by total area in the world and has the longest coastline of any country. It shares a very long border with the United States.
A Land of Diversity
People have lived in Canada for thousands of years. Indigenous peoples were the first to call this land home. Later, British and French explorers and settlers came, especially along the Atlantic coast. In 1867, several areas joined together to form Canada. Today, Canada is home to people from many different backgrounds, making it a rich and colorful place.
Natural Wonders
Canada has many amazing landscapes. It has vast forests, beautiful lakes, and tall mountains. The country also has many wildlife species, including moose, bears, and even polar bears in the north. Canada’s climate can be very cold in the winter, especially in the middle and northern parts, but coastal areas like British Columbia have milder weather.
A Friendly Nation
Canada is known for its friendly and welcoming people. The country values fairness, equality, and helping others. Canada has a strong economy and provides good healthcare and education to its citizens. People in Canada enjoy many sports, with ice hockey being especially popular. Other favorite activities include curling, swimming, and exploring the great outdoors.
Canada’s culture is a mix of many traditions, including British, French, and Indigenous influences, as well as contributions from people all around the world. The maple leaf is a proud symbol of Canada, appearing on the country’s flag. Other symbols include the beaver, the Canada goose, and the phrase “from sea to sea.”
