Clare College

Clare College is one of the oldest colleges at the University of Cambridge in England. It was started a long time ago, in 1326. A kind lady named Elizabeth de Clare helped the college and gave it its name.

Today, Clare College is famous for its beautiful gardens that look out over the River Cam. These gardens are part of an area called the Backs, where you can see the back sides of many college buildings.

The college has a lovely chapel with a choir that sings beautifully. Students enjoy music, and the college is known for its orchestra and jazz nights. Every June, there is a special party called the May Ball, where the college is decorated with lights and colors.

Clare College has many old and interesting buildings, like the Old Court and Clare Bridge. Students also row boats in the May Bumps race, which is a fun event on the river.

Many important people have been linked to Clare College over the years, like Sir David Attenborough, a well-known nature broadcaster, and Sir Andrew Wiles, a clever mathematician. The college continues to teach and help students learn.
