Classical Greece
Classical Greece was a special time in ancient Greece. It lasted for about 200 years, from the 5th to the 4th century BC. During this time, many new ideas were born that we still use today.
One of the most important places was Athens. Athens made new rules that let more people have a say in how the city was run. This was one of the first times something called democracy was tried. People in Athens would gather to discuss and make decisions together.
Classical Greece gave us many wonderful things. We learned early math and science from this time. Artists created beautiful buildings like the Parthenon, and sculptures that looked almost real. Theatres were built where exciting plays were performed. Great books and stories were written, and wise thinkers explored big questions about life. These ideas later helped shape the world, especially when the Roman Empire came after.
The end of Classical Greece came when a leader named Philip II of Macedon brought many Greek lands together. This led to new adventures, including the stories of Alexander the Great. Even though this time had some hard moments, the ideas and creations from Classical Greece continue to inspire us even today.
