Crucifixion is an old way people were punished a long time ago. It was used by many ancient cultures, including the Romans and Carthaginians. People would be tied to a big wooden cross. This was a very sad and serious part of history.

The most well-known story about crucifixion is the story of Jesus. His life and teachings are very important in Christianity. The cross is the main symbol of this religion. Because of this, many people around the world think of Jesus and Christian beliefs when they hear about crucifixion.
