Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh. It is a very busy and crowded city, full of life and activity. Dhaka is important for the country's culture, business, and learning.

Dhaka has a long history. People have lived there for over a thousand years. In the past, it was a busy trading place during the time of the Mughal Empire. Many beautiful buildings were made there, like gardens, tombs, mosques, and palaces.

Today, Dhaka is the heart of Bangladesh. It is where the government works and many companies have their offices. The city is famous for its tasty food, colorful three-wheeled bikes called rickshaws, and many festivals. Dhaka has grown a lot and is now one of the biggest cities in the country.

Dhaka is known for its special food, such as biryani, a delicious rice dish. The city also has many different kinds of foods from around the world. Dhaka’s rickshaws are painted with bright colors and pictures, making the streets very lively.

The city has many places for learning. There are many schools, colleges, and universities. The University of Dhaka is one of the oldest and most famous universities. It has many students and teachers studying many subjects.

Dhaka loves sports, especially cricket and football. Many people enjoy watching and playing these games. The city has teams that play in national competitions and hosts big events like the opening of the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

Dhaka is also a center for culture and arts. There are theaters, music groups, and art schools. The city celebrates many festivals, such as the Bengali New Year called Pohela Baishakh, where people gather in parks and enjoy music and dancing.

Dhaka has many sister cities around the world, such as Kolkata in India and New York City in the United States. These partnerships help the cities share ideas and work together.
