India
India is a big and beautiful country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area and has the most people in the world, with over 1.4 billion. India touches the Indian Ocean to the south, the Arabian Sea to the southwest, and the Bay of Bengal to the southeast. It shares borders with Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.
India has a very long and rich history. People have lived there for over 55,000 years. Many important cultures and religions started in India, like Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. The country is known for its colorful festivals, tasty food, and many languages. Over 22 languages are official, with Hindi being the most common.
India is a democratic country where people choose their leaders. It has 28 states and 8 union territories, each with its own government. The leader of the country is called the Prime Minister. Today, Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister.
India’s culture is very rich. Traditional clothes include the sari for women and the dhoti for men. People love to celebrate festivals like Diwali, a time for lights and joy. India’s food is famous for its spices. Popular dishes include rice, bread, vegetables, and meats.
Cricket is a very popular sport in India. Kids and grown-ups enjoy watching and playing it. India has also made many great progress in technology and space exploration. The country works hard to protect its forests and animals, including tigers and the Ganges river dolphin.
India continues to grow and change, but it always keeps its rich traditions and beautiful landscapes close to its heart.
