Welcome to Dubai!

Dubai is a big, exciting city in the United Arab Emirates. It sits by the water, on a place called a creek along the Persian Gulf. Lots of people live here—about 4 million—and many are from other countries around the world.

A City That Grows and Shines

Long ago, Dubai was a small village where people fished and collected pearls. But today, it’s famous for its tall buildings, shiny towers, and fun places to visit. One of the most famous buildings is the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the whole world! Dubai also has cool man-made islands like Palm Jumeirah that look like a palm tree from above.

Things to See and Do

Dubai is a city full of adventures. You can shop in huge malls or visit old markets called souks. There are amazing parks, beautiful beaches, and even gardens full of flowers, like the Dubai Miracle Garden. People love to go dune-bashing in the desert, which is like sliding down big sand hills in a special off-road vehicle.

Moving Around the City

Getting around Dubai is easy! The city has buses, taxis, and a train called the Dubai Metro. There are also special water boats called abras that cross the Dubai Creek. And for those who love to fly, Dubai International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world.

Fun Facts About Dubai

  • Dubai’s name might mean “two brothers” or come from a bug that used to live there long ago.
  • The city has its own special police cars that fly in the sky!
  • Every year, Dubai hosts big events like Expo 2020, where countries from all over the world come to share their cultures.

Dubai is a place where old meets new, and there’s always something exciting happening! Whether you’re looking at tall buildings, shopping, or enjoying the sunny weather, Dubai is a city that never stops growing and shining bright.
