East Elmhurst, Queens

East Elmhurst is a friendly neighborhood in the northern part of Queens, one of the five parts of New York City. It is close to many other places like Jackson Heights, Corona, and LaGuardia Airport.

People live in houses and apartments here. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community District 3 and has several ZIP Codes. It is watched over by the New York City Police Department.

East Elmhurst has a rich history. Long ago, the area was a big marsh called Trains Meadow. Over time, it changed and grew. In 1905, the first houses were built. Later, many families moved in, making it a lively place.

The neighborhood is full of places to explore. There are lovely parks like Louis C. Moser Playground and LaGuardia Landing Lights Fields. You can also visit the Marine Air Terminal at LaGuardia Airport, which is a special building made a landmark by the city. East Elmhurst is also home to many different cultures, with many people from Hispanic or Latino backgrounds.

Some famous people grew up or lived in East Elmhurst, such as Langston Hughes, a wonderful writer, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the U.S. Congress. The area has many places of worship and schools, making it a special place to live and visit.
