Elizabeth of York was a kind and important queen from long ago. She was born on February 11, 1466, at the Palace of Westminster. Her parents were King Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville.

Elizabeth became Queen of England when she married King Henry VII on January 18, 1486. Their marriage helped bring peace after a difficult time called the Wars of the Roses. Elizabeth was known for her kindness and love of books. She helped design Greenwich Palace and enjoyed dancing with her husband.

Elizabeth and Henry VII had many children. Their most famous son was Henry VIII, who later became King of England. Sadly, some of their children passed away when they were very young. Elizabeth’s daughters became queens of Scotland and France.

Elizabeth passed away on February 11, 1503, which was her 37th birthday. She is remembered for bringing happiness and peace to her family and country. Her story is still told today in books, songs, and even cards like the Queen of Hearts.
