King Henry VIII

King Henry VIII was the ruler of England from 1509 until he passed away in 1547. He was born in Greenwich to King Henry VII and Elizabeth of York.

Henry is famous for having six wives! He married many times because he wanted a son to be his heir. His first wife was Catherine of Aragon, and they had a daughter named Mary. Later, he married Anne Boleyn, and they had a daughter named Elizabeth. His third wife, Jane Seymour, gave birth to a son named Edward, who later became king.

Henry loved music and played instruments like the lute. He also enjoyed sports, especially jousting. He built beautiful palaces and was very tall and strong. People remember him for his many marriages and his role in changing the church in England.

After Henry passed away, his children took turns ruling. Edward became Edward VI, followed by Mary as Mary I, and then Elizabeth as Elizabeth I. They all made their own marks on history!
