The Eurasian Economic Union
The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is a group of five countries that work together to make trade easier. These countries are Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. They joined together so that people, goods, and services can move freely between them.
How It Started
The idea to create this union began after the Soviet Union broke apart. The countries needed new ways to work together. In 2014, leaders from Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia signed an agreement to form the union. It officially began on January 1, 2015. Later, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan joined.
What They Do Together
The EAEU has common rules for trade, energy, and transportation. This helps businesses and people in these countries. For example, someone from Russia can easily sell goods in Kazakhstan without many problems. The union also plans to maybe share one currency someday.
Big Meetings and Decisions
The biggest decisions are made by leaders from each country in a group called the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. Every day tasks are handled by the Eurasian Economic Commission, based in Moscow. This commission makes sure the rules are followed and helps solve problems between countries.
Why It Matters
The EAEU helps its members grow their economies. By working together, these countries can share resources like oil and minerals. They also build better roads and railways to connect their lands. This makes life better for people by creating jobs and improving services.
The union is a friendly group where countries help each other. It is like a big team working for a common goal!
