Eurasian Otter

The Eurasian otter is a clever animal that loves water. It lives in places like Eurasia and the Maghreb. These otters are good swimmers and love to catch fish.

Eurasian otters have brown fur on their backs and lighter fur on their bellies. They are slim and perfect for moving in water. These otters live alone and mark their spaces so others know to stay away.

You can find Eurasian otters in many parts of the world. They live in Europe, Asia, and even some places in North Africa. They like clean water places such as rivers, lakes, and coastal areas. In some places, they even live in lakes on golf courses!

These otters eat mostly fish, but in colder months they also enjoy eating amphibians, worms, and small animals. They are smart and good hunters. Even though they faced some hard times before, many Eurasian otters are doing better now because people are helping to keep their homes clean and safe.
