What Is Exercise?

Exercise means moving your body in fun ways. It helps keep you healthy and strong. People do exercise for many reasons. They might want to play games, feel better, or stay in shape. Exercise can be done anywhere — inside or outside. It can be as easy as walking or as fun as playing soccer with friends.

Types of Exercise

There are different kinds of exercise. Aerobic exercise makes your heart and lungs work better. Running, cycling, and swimming are examples. Anaerobic exercise helps build strong muscles. Push-ups and lifting weights are ways to do this. Flexibility exercises, like stretching, help your body move easily. Doing a mix of these helps your whole body stay healthy.

Why Exercise Is Good

Exercise helps your body in many ways. It makes your muscles stronger and your bones healthier. It also helps your heart stay strong. When you exercise, you feel happier and can even sleep better. It’s like giving your body a fun job to do! Even a little bit of exercise each day can make a big difference.

Exercise Around the World

People all over the world love to exercise. In Bogotá, Colombia, people ride bikes on special roads closed just for them every Sunday. In Sweden, some people exercise outside in forests or rivers. In China, groups of people dance together in parks. No matter where you live, there are fun ways to move your body and stay healthy.
