Fiuman Dialect

The Fiuman dialect is a special way of speaking that people use in Rijeka, a city in Croatia. It is a mix of the Venetian language with words from Italian, Hungarian, and German. This happened because many different cultures lived and worked in the area for a long time.

Rijeka was part of the Habsburg monarchy for many years. During that time, people from many places moved there. They brought their own words and ways of speaking, which added to the Fiuman dialect.

Even though not many people speak Fiuman today, it is remembered by some writers and older people in Rijeka. The dialect has its own special phrases and sounds that make it unique and interesting.
